How plastic bottles are formed

Here's a site that gives a rough demo on how plastic water and soft drink bottles are formed.

Most bottle manufacturers use PET (Polyethylene Therephthalate)plastic to make their bottles. There are several problems with PET plastic many of which have recently come to the attention of consumers. One of the biggest problems with PET plastic is that it doesn't break down into a safe harmless compost. In fact some reports indicate that PET bottles that make it into landfill (75-80%) may still be here thousands of years from now.....they don't biodegrade.

Something had to be done as there are billions....yep, billions of plastic bottles being manufactured every year and they are filling up our landfills, and polluting our oceans.

A new company, ENSO Bottles is trying to do something about the problem. They are introducing a patented PET plastic containing an additive allowing it to biodegrade both anerobically, aerobically. Additionally, ENSO plastic bottles can be recycled like standard PET plastic. It won't solve all the problems but it's a step in the the right direction.

Check out how plastic bottles are formed.
